Our business began in 1996 as a small chocolate pop up shop while we started looking for the right location to get established in.
Parnell was our ultimate choice the area had character, and the shops very vintage.   We began with a small store and as we grew and have now expanded into two other stores in the same location by removing dividing walls.

Initially we did just chocolates and coffee and hot chocolates.   At that time none of the franchise stores were here and it was nearly impossible to get a coffee after 4pm until the restaurants opened around 6pm.    My secret passion coffee and chocolate.

In 1999 we had a surprise visit from the then President of the USA Bill Clinton, with his daughter Chelsea and mother in law Mrs Rotheram. That was a huge event we would later find out with international and local media, and a thank you letter from the Whitehouse.

In 2000 we were Auckland Top Shop Winner
In 2008 we were the GIA winners for New Zealand and were sent to represent NZ in Chicago at the Gift and Homeware Show there.

We travelled the world extensively seeking out good chocolate brands and do stock some international brands still but honestly we love our New Zealand chocolatiers who use Barry Callebaut chocolate which is imported in bulk ex Belgium but they temper it and convert it to finished chocolates here in New Zealand and use fresh and local ingredients for the fillings.

Our cafe is open the same hours as the retail 11am to 9.50pm.   The nights are usually busiest from 8pm onwards and we are unable to take bookings.  Tables change regularly so it does not take long to find a seat if you are happy to wait.   The menu is extensive teas, coffees, hot chocolates, iced drinks, waffles, ice cream sundaes, divine cakes, etc.
